The Congress of Indonesian Women Scholars (KUPI) is organizing the KUPI 2025 Halaqah Kubra on December 12–14, 2025, as a space for reflection and consolidation of the Indonesian women scholars’ movement. This event serves as a midpoint in KUPI’s five-year cycle leading up to the 3rd KUPI Congress, scheduled to take place in 2027.
The Chair of the KUPI 2025 Halaqah Kubra Organizing Committee, Iklilah Fajriyah Muzayyanah, explained that this forum aims to evaluate the implementation of the outcomes from the previous KUPI Congress while mapping out the various critical needs of women within the context of an ever-evolving social, political, and religious landscape.
“This Halaqah Kubra serves as a space to reflect on the movement’s journey while preparing the direction and responses from women scholars that will be formulated and established at the next KUPI Congress,” she stated during a press conference on Friday (12/12) at the Convention Center Hall of UIN Sunan Kalijaga in Yogyakarta.
Meanwhile, Alimatul Qibtiyah, Secretary of the KUPI Halaqah Kubra organizing committee, noted during the same event that the KUPI Halaqah Kubra 2025 series of activities will take place over three days, employing a participatory approach. The first day featured public dialogues and discussions involving approximately 500 participants from various regions and backgrounds.
